Hey all...

I was going to purchase a athlon x4 630 in summer and wanted a mobo wit a mid range price tag and should be able to do both CF and SLI...
is it even possible on AMD chipsets??? and if possible which would be a good board??? and also a good CPU cooler for around 40$ max..
and m going to OC the CPU to atleast 3.4 GHZ... so the board should be able to handle it :D
and of course which memory to go with???

and also what does CAS means and what does it do????

Thanks for reading and replying :D :D :D

CAS is the timings on the memory. CAS8 would be 8-8-8-** etc.
You won't find an AMD board that supports both SLI and Crossfire. It's only the some Intel chipsets which support that.
What is your price range for the motherboard? $100?

Most X58 motherboard can do SLI and Crossfire.

Check this though. You can activate pretty SLI pretty much anywhere.

My question is: will you stick to AMD or go with Intel?

okay but what does the 8-8-8.. and 6-6-6.. mean?? does higher timings mean more power in read and write or is it the opposite???

and my budget is around 120$ for mobo 100$ for ram and 40$ for cooler

with AMD I'd stick to a Asus board. They overclock the best, but that might not be in your interest...
