2.5 inch hdd failure?

hello gents; been a while.

here my problem:
i have that usb hdd which stops randomly,
- Ive tried to plug it into a sata port result in no drive detect under windows;
- ive tried e-sata, nothing.

So sometimes when i play with the usb cable its being detected, show the drive's name in "my computer" but cant access data. (shows me empty folders in explorer or eventually crashes it).

i'm actually trying that O&O DiskImage software that i bought long ago. but takes age to recognize that particular disk and load up only when its unplug from the computer.

so what's ur opinion on this? power failure? mbr dead? is there any command i can run on the drive like its a WD so i can check their website to reset something ? ... i dont know

well; i'll take any help on that

thanks

I'm willing to do $450 + Shipping for the 2 560 Ti 448 Cores Classifieds if someone buys them together. That's $225 per card, AKA a 25% mark down for practically brand new cards that're under warranty which I will fulfill through eVGA if you just contact me when there's problems, keep in mind you'd have to pay any shipping charges during the RMA process.

On the 580, it'll be an eVGA model as I'm getting 2 Zotac AMP!s, and keeping the other eVGA. Still askin' $325 shipped for that, I'd rather sell them here than on EBay cuz of the fees. The 580 I bought used, so it has no warranty.

I have been dealing with allot as of late and havent been around much. I just stopped in to say that I noticed that my Fermi GPUs are getting some really nice beta WUs that are high PPD. My GTX 560 and GTX 470s are both averaging about 20K each with these. And I have been getting a steady stream of them. The run a tad bit hotter than normal units but not by much at all.

So if you are interested in getting a PPD boost jump on them while they last.

Finally ordered the SSD

I have ordered the 256gb SSD for my laptop. Part: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820148449

(I have already checked the deminsions, my laptops drive bay has room for up to a 10mm drive, this unit is 9.5

Should I just use the transfer kit included? start with a fresh Image? or track down a windows intstall disk and start with a clean install from the ground up?

My laptop is already setup in AHCI mode, however like most laptops was not shipped with a install disk. The very first thing I did was create an image of the system when I bought it. Other then that, I have access to a windows disk.

So short question is as follows, for a laptop, which is not being used to eek out every bit of performance possible should I?

A: Use the transfer kit
B: Start with the Image as shipped
C: Go though the process of a full fresh install and downloading the drivers from lenovo.

Thanks,

1080p video capture card

Hello,

I'm looking for a 1080p video capture card to record game footage for youtube. At the moment I'm recording with a camera - the quality isn't very good and many people don't like it. Example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dzad72zrC1o&list=UUFbA6vnGuDehPTlqv6r1ong&index=1&feature=plcp

Fraps is not an option, because it has several things that I don't like. The capture card should be able to record 1080p at 30FPS, it shouldn't affect my PC's performance (FPS) and also would be good if it could record in 1080p not depending on what resolution I'm playing the game at (for example if I play at 1920x1200, it still records 1920x1080).

Is there such a thing?

I found this myself - http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/decklinkhdextreme/
Example video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvj9RlniBts

Would this suit my needs? If yes, are there any cheaper options?

Thanks!

Battlefield 3 + 3-Way SLi + Surround - Anyone running it? Need opinions.

I'll make this short & to the point:

I'm running Surround. 3x1080p. I didn't like how laggy it ran on my 560 Ti 448 Cores Classifieds in SLi, so I got 2 580s offa EBay. They run it better, but I still can't play with Ultra settings or 4xAA (running 2xAA now) and I'm wondering if a 3rd card would fix this... so my question is, after seeing people having issues in searches, with 3-Way/Surround/BF3 as a combination, does anyone have Surround & 3-Way SLi & BF3 and can confirm or deny it working, and/or how well it works?

I'm not looking to run ALL Ultra settings, I'm more of looking to be able to run the game at a more solid FPS rate, with mostly High/Ultra settings and 4xAA... I know that'll bring me close to my 1.5GB vRAM limit, I can work around that by turning stuff down...

Anyone got it? If so can you post up a quick screen with Afterburner readout from somewhere like Caspian Border (as that map is the laggiest map in all of BF3 in terms of FPS dips)? Right now I'm running High on almost everything but Terrain Decoration, with 2xAA & the 580s at stock, and I get as low as 45FPS on Caspian Border when at the C Flag in the Forest. Keep in mind, that's at 3x1080p (5760x1080 I believe is the full resolution)

Thanks in advance to anyone who posts some results!

Max Bulldozer voltages and OC'able RAM

So I am trying my hand at OC'ing this goofy FX-8150 CPU and I realized I have no upper limit voltage to go by. I did some digging on the interweb and found nothing. Anyone know off the top of their head? Is this another 1.4v CPU, or can we go higher? I have excellent cooling, so no worries there.

Also, I am running 4x 2GB DDR3-1600 RAM atm. I want to go to 2x 4GB thinking maybe DDR3-1800ish. I was wondering about voltage on the RAM. Would a 1.2v or 1.3v RAM be easier to OC than 1.65v RAM given the lower voltage required from the controller? Ideas?

I have sold off all of my computers and parts aside from my laptop, and my old K8N which is used as a media mechine daily (and since its already setup, and so old, I saw no reason to replace or sell it)

Some of you may notice I have been very quiet around here, thats mostly due to not having much time to do things related to the computer world. I MAY build another some time this year. But at the moment since everything was just gathering up dust I decided to clear house.

I will have some water cooling parts comming up for sale though.

For the mean time, cheers.
