hey everyone.

I'm planning to get a new CPU cooler. because my H70 is giving me issue's. temps are getting up to 78c with my i7 970 4.2 GHz's under 1.32v. which is my taste way too high. i reseated the fans multiple times. tried intake or exhaust. i even re-applied the thermal paste.
and still my temps are way too high. my room temps are 15c. so, that's not the issue.

I've already discussed this in the shout box. but, still not convinced enough, to buy either of them.

my spec's are in my profile. and yes, they are updated :)

so any help is appreciated :)

i vote for the NH-D14, still in the TOP 3 CPU air coolers i think. only coolers that may be better is the thermalright silver arrow or scythe suzanoo.

noctua is coming out with a but load of different coolers that beat the d14 but if you need to buy now.. the d14 and the silver arrow are top dogs...

I would say for the average user it would hard to do a good recommendation. And that would be that I doubt that most here have used more than 1 cooler on there current CPU, and a few may have run 2. But I doubt anyone here has done anything close to serious testing of whats best on the market and what isnt. As for reviews they kind of contradict each other and it depends on who you ask, and how they tested.

Not just the hardware, but humidity, ambient temps, case (if any was used in testing) and many other things come into play for a proper comparison. So in essence mostly what you get will be opinions, and that all depends on whos opinion you trust.

At the end of the day you will have to decide what you think will work best for your situation.
