yeah and there is no way Gigabyte, Asus ,MSI would blow up like that? no offence but i will stand with asrock because they are growing big time and are doing one of the best mobos on the market!

I've been burned by ASUS before and have still gone back as recent reviews of ASUS X58 and then P67 showed they had started to get it right (more right with X58 than EVGA!), i almost choose Gigabyte but went Asus as it appeared they did OC slighty better on lower volts. And this held true.

But i have seen this year a above average set of issues with Asrock boards again recently more so than Msi or Asus or Gigib' and this leads me to worry about recommending them again as yet again it seems Bios related issues and more boards than normal being DOA or failing fast.

Now as a budget company Asrock are trying to offer more value for the dollar than Asus -Gb or MSi problem is P67 is budget and the price difference is negligable so that's why I would recommend Asus-MSi and GB over them as RMA and DOA rate are better in general.

This doesn't mean you can't use or try ASrock, but it does mean they carry extra risk in the same way not buying Gigab' or EVGA GPU do. Same for stepping away from corsair for the PSU.

It's all about what happens after you buy your PC a good example is Asus where the first in the UK to offer a free swap from Rev 1 P67 to Rev 3 (Asus have got their crap together in last 2 years, MSi and GB followed just behind).

I've had plenty of brands of RAM only corsair got me new stuff back within 24 hours!

So would I recommend a brand with a toxic past? I would, only with the warning that the Bios and non ref' part of the board may lead to more issues than if you go with the big three.

Plenty of GB Asus and Msi boards do fail but you face a RMA of 2-4 weeks before you get generally a new or working board back. With other brands this can be longer and or be a refund only as they won't have that mobo in stock.

The simple fact is people like scan aria and newegg are large Asus-msi-GB channel partners so your chance of getting a happy resolution to a issue with those brands is better than the smaller brands because the retailer will have abilities for RMA and warrenty with those brands they don't for the smaller ones.
