You aren't going to get a SATA III 256gb SSD for under $300
This is the cheapest one on newegg that fits everything you want
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820249011
And its $380
You can get a 120gb SATA III from Mushkin for $250

Read up to 560mb/s
Write up to 515mb/s

laptop so revo x2 is going to be a problem
Dred just monitor the prices for a bit newegg and others have deals and there are deals all over (staples and other etc) for the older 270 MB RW sandforce drives and these are almost as fast for laptop use as laptop don't get the benefit desktops do from the newest drives as so many things are nerfed on a mobile chipset. For the laptops size is a bit more important than speed SSD wise which opens up alot of budget options.

In all seriousness use my advice with a pinch of salt - for instance buying a brand new product on launch is a bit silly when the price drops within a week but waiting months for something is just crazy (unless of course your quite content with your current setup).
A Vertex 2 will be plenty fast for a laptop's needs and they are quite cheap now.... Also consider a 120gb one as they are currently better value for money than the higher density 240gb drives. Maybe do as I did and remove the DVD drive (who the hell still uses optical media!!) then you can stick a 500gb - 1tb HDD in the optical sata so you can get a smaller SSD for the OS + apps + a few games then have the HDD for all the media files and other junk that would be pointless sticking on the SSD. IMHO a second HDD is FAR FAR more useful than an optical drive in a laptop... You can get a USB DVD drive for the odd ocation you'll need optical media.... I can't remember the last time I actually used optical media
