Check this out,

I don't have enough spare time to give you a full spec at the moment. However, the PC in the video costs around $500 USD.

Given that you are running a 3870 there would be no point in having a nice new cpu, motherboard, memory, hdd and case if you still can't play any moderately recent games with your PC.
What do you use your PC for and what res is your monitor?

just get something like a i5-2500k, Asus P8P67M, 4GB of cheap ram and at this stage the HDD will probably be the biggest expense!

As said before though a new cpu, mobo isn't going to do anything as your 3870 is really old. Really you need to be looking at trying to upgrade your gpu to say a gtx460 minimum to be able to play games for the next year +

Here's a set-up:

It doesnt have a case, but it will overclock pretty well and the gtx 460 will last a while. This is all assuming your current PSU can foot the load..

You also get a $30 mail in rebate.

I play BF3 and MW3 at medium settings 1080p, but my CPU is slow for me, i want to upgrade now to a new one and later change the GPU

I would recommend the same as everyone else. Get yourself a i5 2500k, Asus P8P67-M board, 2x2 or 2x4GB of RAM, and whatever case you want to get. Should be well within your price range, and you're talking serious performance gain over what you have no in terms of raw computing power. Then later when you upgrade your PSU/GPU, you'll be flyin'.

I was shocked too. Ususally Newegg has deals on some for around $50. Not today I guess. But the 2500k will suit you well! Have fun with it!

I want a m-ATX build xD, and for me the Fractal Design mini is the best case for m-ATX.
But thanks for the advice ;)

Well i've been reading and from what i was able to gather warehouses in Thailand were flooded thus damaging HDD products and the production lines, also there is shortage raw materials to build them hence the high prices.
Now, for those that have cash xD, it's the time to buy a SSD.

I first reported the news about the HDD situation Oct 19th http://trubritar.com...o-shortages-866

And then again on on Nov 1st http://trubritar.com...ear-future-1054

Followed up again today by DLUK saying HDDs are limited to 1 per customer at scanuk., http://trubritar.com...scan-co-uk-1167

So you better if you require a HDD for bulk storage you better ***BAD*** it up now. It wasnt warehouses but manufacuring plants that flooded. And it coul be another 6 to 8 months before they have those plants back online.

TBH, I would go for the i3 2100 perhaps with a z68 or p67 board and upgrade the cpu to Ivy Bridge later.
